Mental Health Awareness Week

Posted by Northumbria University

Mental Health Awareness Week

Mental Health Awareness Week takes place 13 - 19 May, and this year the theme is Movement - Moving more for our mental health.

Being active is important for our mental health, so this Mental Health Awareness Week we want to encourage students to find moments for movement in their daily routines.

We are providing some free sporting activities over the course of the week that you can get involved in.

FREE CLIMB SESSIONS

We’re offering free climb sessions in Sport Central’s climbing wall. This is open to both students and staff. All you need to do is download the NU Sport App, create a FREE user account then book onto the free sessions. Space is limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.

FREE JUST PLAY SESSIONS

Our Just PLAY programme continues during Mental Health Awareness Week and it continues to be completely FREE and open to all abilities. We have basketball, futsal, netball and volleyball taking place and the sessions are available to book via the NU Sport App.

Get involved with Northumbria Sport this Mental Health Awareness Week.
